Frequent short-term absence can trigger attendance reviews even when each period is genuine. Review points vary by department. They should prompt a discussion of causes, support and individual circumstances rather than automatic disciplinary action.

Why patterns matter
Management may look at the number, length, timing and stated reason for absences. A pattern can involve recurring symptoms, separate illnesses, treatment, disability, pregnancy, work-related causes or an inaccurate absence record. These explanations require different responses.
Check the calculation
Ask for the exact dates, review period and policy rule. Confirm whether part-days, medical appointments, disability-related absence, pregnancy-related sickness or other categories have been recorded correctly.
Members can unlock: an absence-record audit, pattern analysis, trigger-point adjustment case, evidence plan, return-to-work correction method, meeting preparation and wording for disability, pregnancy, work-related causes and disputed records.
