How to show customer service in an AA Civil Service personal statement

Customer service is a common requirement in Administrative Assistant job adverts. The wording may vary, but the sifter usually wants to see that you can deal with people politely, understand what they need, take the right action, and keep a professional tone.

At AA level, customer service does not need to mean solving complex cases. A strong example could involve helping someone understand a process, dealing with a complaint, answering a query, booking an appointment, checking a record, or guiding someone to the right information.

A strong customer service example should show who the customer was and what they needed.

It should also show how you listened, checked the facts, explained the next steps, and took practical action. The example should feel calm and controlled. Customer service at AA level is often about being helpful, accurate, and professional.
