Staff must report suspected personal-data breaches to the information security team immediately. Where a breach is likely to create a risk to individuals, the organisation should notify the regulator within 72 hours of confirming the breach, where this is feasible. People affected by a breach that is likely to create a high risk must also be informed without undue delay. Low-risk incidents still need to be recorded internally.
