Get medical support early
Speak to your GP or relevant clinician where symptoms are significant. Follow sickness reporting rules and provide fit notes when required. Keep records of appointments, treatment and advice.
Explain the work impact
- Difficulty concentrating in long or confrontational meetings.
- Sleep disruption affecting attendance or accuracy.
- Symptoms triggered by direct contact with the person involved.
- Medication effects or reduced stamina.
- Need for breaks, remote attendance or written information.
When Occupational Health may help
Occupational Health can advise on fitness for work, adjustments, meeting arrangements, return to work and the relationship between health and workplace conditions. The manager remains responsible for employment decisions.
Members can unlock: a health-impact record, Occupational Health request, adjustment menu, sickness and complaint coordination plan, meeting wording and checks for ignored medical advice or disability-related disadvantage.
