Long-term sickness absence reviews examine your health position, contact, prognosis, support and possible return. As absence continues, the discussion may also move towards capability, redeployment or dismissal, so the stage and possible outcomes need to be clear.

A review is not automatically a dismissal meeting
Check the invitation. Ask whether the meeting is a welfare review, a formal absence stage or a capability meeting where warnings or dismissal may be considered. Preparation changes when the possible outcome changes.
