Confirm the meeting status
Ask which policy and stage apply, who will attend, whether notes will be produced, what documents will be discussed and whether you can be accompanied. Rights and arrangements vary by meeting type and department policy.
Know your three aims
- Explain the strongest incidents clearly.
- Make sure key evidence and witnesses are identified.
- Secure the safeguards, actions and next steps you need.
Take a focused meeting pack
Bring a short chronology, allegation summary, document index, questions, policy extracts and notes on the outcome sought. Keep the full evidence file available without reading every document aloud.
Members can unlock: a meeting preparation sheet, opening statement, question bank, allegation-by-allegation answer plan, wording for breaks or new evidence and a follow-up system for correcting the record.
