Passage

At the start of January, the service had 1,240 unresolved complaints. A temporary team was created to handle older cases while permanent staff focused on new complaints. By the end of March, the backlog had fallen to 610. During the same period, the average age of unresolved cases fell from 54 days to 31 days. The temporary team will remain in place until the backlog is below 300, after which managers will review whether extra support is still needed.
