Using a Failed Project in a Civil Service Behaviour Statement
Hello,
I am applying for an SEO delivery role. My strongest example involves a digital project that did not launch on the planned date because a supplier dependency failed late in testing.
I had identified the risk, escalated it and prepared a fallback, but senior leaders initially chose to continue with the original date. When the issue became unavoidable, I coordinated the recovery plan and the service launched six weeks later.
Can I use this, or will the failed deadline make the example look weak?

A failed or delayed project can still provide strong evidence when your actions show sound judgement, honest escalation, controlled recovery and learning. Do not disguise the failure. Explain what you owned, what sat outside your authority and what improved because of your intervention.
