EO personal statements
Show purposeful relationships that helped work move forward
EO stakeholder evidence should explain why the relationship mattered, how you understood different interests, what you communicated or negotiated and how the engagement contributed to delivery.

Stakeholders may be internal teams, managers, customers, suppliers, local partners, subject-matter experts, regulators or service providers. A long contact list is not evidence unless it shows how those relationships were used effectively.

How to show stakeholder management in an EO personal statement

Choose a situation with an outcome that depended on other people. Explain what each stakeholder needed, where priorities differed, how you created trust and clarity, and how you maintained action rather than relying on one successful meeting.

What strong stakeholder management evidence needs to show

1
Purpose
State what needed to be achieved through the stakeholder relationship.
2
Interests and influence
Show that you understood different needs, constraints and decision rights.
3
Engagement plan
Explain who you contacted, when, through which channel and why.
4
Challenge and agreement
Include disagreement, delay or uncertainty and how it was handled.
5
Follow-through
Show owners, actions, updates and a result rather than ending with a discussion.

Common advert wording

  • “Able to build effective relationships across teams”
  • “Experience managing supplier or external partner relationships”
  • “Able to engage stakeholders with different priorities”

Why weak evidence loses value

Weak stakeholder paragraphs describe being approachable, attending meetings or liaising with people at all levels. Stronger evidence shows a specific dependency, different interests, structured engagement and an outcome that could not have been achieved alone.
