Judgement Test Question 54 – A colleague challenges a decision after it is made
Read the scenario and rate every action independently. Several actions can receive the same rating.

Scenario
During a team meeting, Leanne says a decision you announced ignores advice from her area and will create operational problems. She speaks firmly and several colleagues look confused. Leanne attended the earlier planning meetings but did not raise the concern then. The decision can still be adjusted if there is a serious issue, although delay would affect the timetable. You need to understand the substance of the challenge, keep the meeting under control and address the way important information was held back.
Rate the actions
For each action, choose Counterproductive, Ineffective, Fairly Effective or Effective.
Action A
Tell Leanne she had several opportunities to speak and confirm that the decision will stand.

Ask Leanne to explain the concern and evidence. Decide whether the issue requires review, then discuss privately why it was not raised during the earlier planning work.
