There is no universal SEO personal statement. The criteria differ between policy, operations, project delivery, analysis, digital, professional and corporate roles. Your plan must come from the essential criteria, person specification, responsibilities and any attached candidate information.
At SEO level, strong evidence often shows responsibility for a defined outcome, coordination across people or teams, use of evidence, management of risk and a result with wider value. The criterion pages below provide weak, strong and shorter examples for common requirements.

Start with the advert
A reliable criterion structure
| Part | Purpose | SEO emphasis |
|---|---|---|
| Criterion heading | Shows the sifter exactly what you are answering. | Use the advert wording or a close, accurate version. |
| Context line | Explains where the evidence came from. | Name the role, service, project, policy or responsibility. |
| Situation and responsibility | Defines the issue and your accountability. | Show the complexity, consequence and scope you controlled. |
| Action | Provides the evidence that earns marks. | Explain analysis, decisions, coordination, communication, risk and delivery. |
| Result | Proves the action had value. | Use a credible outcome, measure, decision, improvement or sustained change. |
What weak SEO statements often look like
The weaker wording could describe almost any applicant. The stronger version gives a setting, scale, action and result that can be matched to several advert requirements.
Choose evidence that fits SEO
- The example involves ownership of a workstream, service task, decision, analysis, improvement or stakeholder outcome.
- You explain your judgement and the evidence or guidance behind it.
- Other people are included where their input, agreement or delivery mattered.
- You identify risks, dependencies, quality standards or competing demands.
- The result reaches beyond personal task completion and is credible for your authority.
