Passage
A fisheries survey collected voluntary responses from vessel operators in 14 coastal harbours. Of those who replied, 62 per cent reported lower catches than in the previous year, 21 per cent reported no change and the remainder reported higher catches. The report warns that the respondents were self-selecting and did not represent every harbour or every type of vessel. It therefore advises against using the results to estimate catch changes across the entire fleet.
