How do I turn routine work into a credible behaviour statement?

Turning Routine Work Into a Strong Civil Service Behaviour Example

Hello,

I am applying for AO roles and most of my experience is routine administration. I process invoices, update records, answer queries and follow set procedures.

I do not have a major crisis or project to write about. One example is when I noticed that supplier invoices were being returned because a required reference was missing, so I created a simple check before submission and explained it to colleagues.

Is that too basic for a behaviour statement?

Quick Answer

Routine work can produce strong AO evidence when it includes a meaningful problem, personal action, use of guidance and a practical result. The example does not need to be dramatic. It needs to make the relevant behaviour criteria visible.
