Should Employment History contain duties or only job titles and dates?

Whether to Add Duties to Civil Service Employment History

Hello,

I am completing an AO application. The Employment History box is free text and the instructions only say to provide my employment history.

I have seen advice saying it should contain employer, title and dates only. My current title is “Team Member”, which does not explain that I handle customer queries, cash reconciliation and stock records.

Should I include duties as well?

Quick Answer

Use employer, job title and dates as the minimum. Add a brief duties line when the title is unclear or the context helps the sifter understand relevant experience. Keep detailed evidence and achievements for the section designed to assess skills and experience.
