Judgement Test Question 86 – Two specialists give conflicting advice

Scenario
A legal adviser and an operations lead disagree about whether a new type of evidence can be accepted in a public scheme. The legal adviser is concerned about challenge and consistency. The operations lead says refusing the evidence will exclude customers who cannot obtain the usual document. Both ask you to choose their position before guidance is issued this afternoon. You own the decision. Each specialist has relevant expertise, but neither has explained the assumptions behind their recommendation or the likely effect of the alternative.
Rate the actions
For each action, choose Counterproductive, Ineffective, Fairly Effective or Effective.

Choose the operations view because that team will have to apply the guidance in practice.
