Casework Skills Test Question 44 – Acting on a safeguarding disclosure in a routine application
On this page
Practice focus: Immediate risk, safe contact and continued casework
Difficulty: Hard
Scenario
During a routine application call, the customer says a person at their home has threatened them and asks that no correspondence be sent there. They sound frightened but do not say whether the threat is immediate. The safeguarding guidance requires the caseworker to check immediate safety, use the safeguarding referral route where appropriate and agree a safe method of contact. The application itself can continue.
