My CV lists duties but does not show results. How should I rewrite it?
Rewriting Civil Service CV Duties as Evidence and Results
Hello,
I am applying for a HEO operational delivery role. My CV says things like “responsible for stakeholder meetings”, “managed risks” and “produced weekly reports”.
The duties are accurate, but they could apply to anyone in the role. I have results from the work, although I struggle to include them without turning every line into a long STAR example.
How should I rewrite the CV?
Quick Answer
Keep Employment History factual, then rewrite Previous Skills and Experience around the vacancy criteria using specific actions and relevant outcomes. You do not need full STAR stories. Each evidence point should show the setting, what you personally did and what changed.
