I keep scoring 4 on behaviour statements. What separates a 4 from a 5 or 6?
Moving a Civil Service Behaviour Statement Beyond a Score of 4
Hello,
I am an AO applying for EO roles. My behaviour statements usually score 4, so they pass some sifts but do not feel competitive.
I use STAR, keep within 250 words and choose examples that match the behaviour. The result is positive and I make my own actions clear.
I do not know what a score of 5 or 6 looks like in practice. I have tried adding more detail, although that often pushes me over the word limit.
What should I change to move beyond a basic pass?
Quick Answer
A score of 4 normally shows acceptable evidence. Higher scores usually come from stronger alignment to the grade criteria, clearer judgement and a more convincing result, rather than extra detail added everywhere.
