Using an Everyday Decision for Making Effective Decisions
Hello,
I am applying for an EO casework role and cannot think of a major decision. Most of my work involves choosing the right action within guidance and escalating anything outside my authority.
One example involved deciding whether an incomplete application could progress. I checked the record, contacted the applicant, compared the evidence with the guidance and decided to pause the case until a missing document was supplied.
Is that decision too routine for a behaviour statement?
Quick Answer
A routine decision can be strong when it contains a real choice, relevant evidence, consideration of impact and a clear explanation of your authority. The scale should fit the grade, so an honest case decision may be better than an inflated story about strategy.
