Casework Skills Test Question 69 – Checking two cases that use the same bank account
On this page
Practice focus: Fraud indicators, shared finances and proportionate verification
Difficulty: Hard
Scenario
A system alert shows that two customers at different addresses have requested payments to the same bank account. The customers have different surnames. Guidance says shared accounts can be legitimate, including where relatives or carers help manage money, but the alert requires identity and account-ownership checks before payment details are changed. The alert must not be recorded as confirmed fraud unless the evidence supports that conclusion.
