Scenario
After signing a statement taken through an interpreter, a customer says the interpreter misunderstood an important answer about when they moved address. The date affects eligibility. The customer asks to replace the original statement. Guidance says signed evidence must not be overwritten, but a corrected account may be added after the issue is explored using a qualified interpreter. Both versions and the reason for the correction must be retained.
Rate the actions
For each action, choose Counterproductive, Ineffective, Fairly Effective or Effective.
Action A
Refuse any correction because the customer signed the original statement and is responsible for checking it.
