Scenario
Your colleague Priya designed a checklist that has reduced errors in your team’s weekly returns. You tested the checklist and presented the results at a meeting with a senior manager. At the end of the meeting, the senior manager congratulates you for creating the improvement. Priya is also attending and says nothing, although she looks disappointed. You want the senior manager to understand your contribution to the testing while making sure Priya receives proper credit for the original idea. The meeting is still open and there is an opportunity to respond naturally before the discussion moves on.
