Can I use a team achievement when the statement needs to focus on me?
Using a Team Result in a Civil Service Behaviour Statement
Hello,
I am applying for an EO role and my best example is when our contact centre team cleared a large backlog before a service deadline. The result belonged to the whole team, and I did not manage anyone.
I reorganised my own cases, shared a tracking method with colleagues and picked up urgent work when another person was absent. The final result was that the team cleared the backlog on time.
Can I use that team achievement without making it sound as though I am taking credit for everyone else?
Quick Answer
Yes. A team result is valid when you separate the shared outcome from the actions you personally controlled. Be accurate about the team achievement, then make your own decisions, contribution and effect easy to identify.
