Hello,
My Civil Service test feedback says I scored at the 44th percentile. I first thought this meant I answered 44% of the questions correctly, but other candidates have described it as a ranking.
The application also says I met the minimum standard, although I have not yet been invited to the next stage.
What does the percentile show, and is 44 a pass?

A percentile is a comparison, not your percentage of correct answers. A 44th percentile result means your performance was higher than 44% of the relevant comparison group. Passing the minimum standard and progressing are separate decisions because the recruiter may set a higher vacancy pass mark after the deadline.
