Choosing the Number of Examples for a 500-Word Personal Statement
Hello,
I am applying for an EO compliance role. The 500-word personal statement is assessed against six essential criteria.
I have one strong investigation example that covers evidence gathering, decision making and communication. I also have smaller examples for workload management, accuracy and dealing with customers.
I am unsure whether to use one detailed example and mention the others briefly, or use four short examples. I need enough depth while still covering all six points.
How many examples would you normally use in 500 words?

Choose the smallest number of examples that can provide clear evidence for every criterion. For six linked EO criteria, two substantial examples with one shorter supporting example will often give a better balance than one long story or several thin paragraphs.
