Judgement Test Question 30 – A sponsor asks for a more positive risk assessment

Scenario
A business case is being prepared for external approval. The programme sponsor asks you to remove likely workforce resistance from the main risk section, saying the mitigation has not been agreed and highlighting the issue could threaten funding. Staff feedback and earlier change programmes provide credible evidence that resistance may affect delivery. You own the assurance advice and have a strong working relationship with the sponsor. The case is due tomorrow, and the sponsor believes the risk can be added after approval when the implementation plan is clearer.
Rate the actions
For each action, choose Counterproductive, Ineffective, Fairly Effective or Effective.
Action A
Explain why the evidence must remain visible, work with the sponsor on balanced wording and set out the immediate action needed to develop mitigation.
